One of Ned's most unique pieces, this 147 year-old document is the cover page of the charter renewal for the Montgomery County Mutual Insurance Company of Canajoharie, NY. Company members listed include: Martin Van Buren, Millard Fillmore, William H. Seward, and Erastus Corning among many prominent New Yorkers of the day. Farmers' Insurance was limited to property, the risks not to exceed $2000. Businesses such as tanneries, wheelrights, blacksmiths, and grist mills were excluded. This fascinating piece of history is double matted in black and white, and framed in dignified black walnut.
