Lake Placid, NY is the site of two Winter Olympiads and a favorite of winter sports enthusiasts worldwide. This Four Roses blended whiskey ad captures its Adirondack beauty in full snowy regalia, replete with skiers. This original full-page ad ran in Life magazine in 1949 and is New York throughout, from the snow at Lake Placid to the roses (the state flower) next to the Manhattan cocktail.
