Description

Johnny Gruelle's endearing moppets Raggedy Ann and Andy (now both members of the National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, NY) have gladdened children's hearts since 1915. These original 1920 bookplates are prints from Mr. Gruelle's own illustrations of the character he created from a faceless rag doll he found in the attic. He added black eyes and the signature triangle nose and gave it to his daughter, Marcella. Beautifully double matted in true red and sky blue, and framed in red oak. Ideal for the collector or childs' room. "On the Roof" and "Falling" are sold as a set only.
